Stress Management

Frances specialises in stress management techniques and life management skills to enable you to live the best life that you can. Our modern lives can lead us to feel more and more stressed as demands pile up from every angle. We all need some ‘stress’ in our lives to provide stimulation and motivation, but too much can lead to our feeling overloaded and unable to cope.  Stress, worry, anxiety, phobias, trauma and other emotional and physical conditions can occur when we possess insufficient resources to cope with our life’s demands. The Health and Safety Executive recognises that there is a clear link between stress and ill health.  A continuous state of stress in our lives can lead to many physical and emotional complications, and eventually long term ill health and serious emotional problems. My therapy helps to boost your own resources so that you can cope with whatever life throws at you.  Our sessions together will help you to rise to meet the challenge of the demands in your life.

Fran’s great. I was feeling very stressed with a baby on the way, running a new business and a house move.  She got me to focus on the important things and let the stress go.  I can honestly say her tapping/hypnotherapy worked wonders and I will be using her again if needs be.

Chronic Pain / Longterm illness

No-one really understands the workings of the human body and mind, but we can be said to be at ‘the ground floor of a high-rise in healing.’ (Gary Craig, 1998).  There are thousands of convincing empirical stories of people becoming symptom-free after using EFT and hypnotherapy.  I cannot guarantee that you will be ‘cured.’  No-one can guarantee that, neither your GP nor the medical profession, but I can tell you that I have experience of  people recovering from illnesses, pain and diseases, from Crohn’s Disease and fibromyalgia, to painful backs, hips, shoulders and migraines. I would love to work with you to show you the techniques that can help bring back your health and vitality, improving your quality of life.  EFT and hypnotherapy can help with pain management, promoting healing and supporting health issues, often in conjunction with orthodox medicine. We love to demand scientific proof of a method. From a Western medical perspective, if there’s no experimental scientific evidence, it may not even be given consideration.  However, personal empirical experience is not the subject of funded research. But if our bodies can manifest physical symptoms as a result of, for example,  stress (such as a heart attack) then why can’t we extinguish them using the same power of our mind? I believe in this possibility and so do many of my clients.

I went to Fran for one session with a sore back, which had been bothering me for several years.  I was very open-minded about the whole thing and have since found that the pain has gone with only a few tweaks occasionally.  I’m seriously looking at going back to Fran with other ailments to see if EFT can help with those as well.

Childbirth and Fertility

Having delivered all of my 4 children at home, using hypnotherapy relaxation techniques with no pain relief necessary, I am passionate about sharing this possibility with women.  I provide effective, enjoyable techniques to use throughout your pregnancy and labour (and after your baby is born, which is when the hard work really starts!). I also believe that hypnotherapy and EFT can help with fertility problems.  When our bodies and minds are stressed, resources are diverted away from areas such as digestion and reproduction. Our bodies can either be in a state of growth or protection. Not both. No wonder then, that if our bodies feel in a constant state of stress, conditions are not optimal for conceiving or giving birth. Of course, again, no-one can prove that hypnosis interventions can lead to conception or improved childbirth.  I believe it’s definitely worth giving the benefit of the doubt! In the words of a client:

Looks like the tapping worked!

Her baby arrived after we used EFT to ‘induce’ her giving birth when she thought she would have to be medically induced.

Phobias

On many websites, you will find endless lists of phobias and their names. The lists are endless because people can have phobias about literally anything.  Some are more common than you might think, such as fear of vomiting (Emetophobia), the fear of thunder and lightening, (Astraphobia), fear of flying or fear of social situations. EFT and Hypnotherapy are excellent approaches to treating your phobia. The process is painless and easy – the hardest part really is booking an appointment.

Following our session last week, yesterday I got into the hospital lift and didn’t feel sick or anxious. First time in years I felt normal.

Stopping Smoking using the NSCI Approach

Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit”.
New Scientist, October 1992

Think about waking up every day feeling fit, healthy and cigarette-free. No more thinking about smoking, wasting your money on cigarettes, or feeling dependent on nicotine. Think how quitting smoking would change your life – becoming more energetic, fitter, healthier and wealthier. Have you tried stopping smoking in the past only to fail somewhere down the line?  Do you feel you lack the ‘willpower’ to quit smoking completely and permanently? Have your previous attempts to stop smoking caused you to gain weight, or to become irritable and stressed? Have you struggled with managing cravings in the past? Has smoking become so ingrained in your life that quitting smoking seems an unrealistic option? Do you associate cigarettes with boredom or stress; drinking and socialising? Whatever your smoking habit entails, I can help. Stop Smoking Herts Hypnotherapy is so successful because you receive immediate rewards for your efforts:

  • you feel an intense sense of pride and satisfaction;
  • you receive an immediate boost to your willpower;
  • you gain a huge amount of confidence in your ability to remain a non- smoker;
  • situations no longer make you feel stressed or anxious.

My hypnotherapy practice has a proven quit smoking hypnotherapy programme, to ensure that no matter how much you smoke, or for how long you have been smoking, you can stop smoking easily and effortlessly using hypnosis, free from cravings, irritability or withdrawal symptoms. You can stop smoking in just one session, and I provide a month’s aftercare which is included in the fee. Hypnosis does not ‘take over’ your mind, so you must be committed to stop smoking or it will simply not work. So think about why you want to stop smoking. How will your life be improved by being a non-smoker? Imagine yourself as a non-smoker doing all the things you do now, feeling just as satisfied and fulfilled in social situations but without smoking.   My successful treatment programme can give you freedom from your habit. If you’re ready to give up smoking, I’m ready to help you. Many of tobacco’s detrimental health effects can be reduced or largely removed through smoking cessation. The health benefits over time of stopping smoking include (American Cancer Society):

  • Within 20 minutes after quitting, blood pressure and heart rate decrease
  • Within 12 hours, carbon monoxide levels in the blood decrease to normal
  • Within 48 hours, nerve endings and sense of smell and taste both start recovering
  • Within 3 days, nicotine is out of your system
  • Within 6 to 12 weeks post quitting the amount of nicotinic receptors in the brain return to the level of a non smoker
  • Within 3 months, circulation and lung function improve
  • Within 9 months, there are decreases in coughing and shortness of breath
  • Within 1 year, the risk of coronary heart disease is cut in half
  • Within 5 years, the risk of stroke falls to the same as a non-smoker, and the risks of many cancers (mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, cervix) decrease significantly
  • Within 10 years, the risk of dying from lung cancer is cut in half, and the risks of larynx and pancreas cancers decrease
  • Within 15 years, the risk of coronary heart disease drops to the level of a non-smoker; lowered risk for developing COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
